The article "State of the Art Language Technologies for Italian: The EVALITA 2014 Perspective" authored by Giuseppe Attardi, Valerio Basile, Cristina Bosco, Tommaso Caselli, Felice Dell’Orletta, Simonetta Montemagni, Viviana Patti, Maria Simi, and Rachele Sprugnoli has been published on "Intelligenza Artificiale", vol. 9, no. 1, 2015, pp. 43-61.


The manuscript entitled "Towards Sentiment Analysis for Historical Texts" by Rachele Sprugnoli, Sara Tonelli, Alessandro Marchetti e Giovanni Moretti has been accepted for publication in the DSH: Digital Scholarship in the Humanities journal and is now online.


This message is on behalf of the “Towards EVALITA 2016” area chairs within the CLiC-it 2015 conference namely Rachele Sprugnoli (DH group, FBK), Viviana Patti (University of Turin), and Franco Cutugno (University Federico II of Naples).


In summer, we usually host high-school interns in the framework of the FBK-Junior program. 

This year the DH group will collaborate with 4 students from Trentino high-schools, with the goal of automatic extracting persons' networks from texts. Their projects will be related to the recognition of biographical information in Wikipedia, the evaluation of coreference resolution systems and the annotation of opinions in political speeches.


The article "Challenges in Quality of Temporal Data - Starting with Gold Standards" authored by Rosella Gennari, Sara Tonelli and Pierpaolo Vittorini has been published on the "ACM Journal on Data and Information Quality" and is now available online.


We have an open position for a Phd grant dealing with linguistic simplification in smart environments!


The paper "Multiword Expression Identification with Recurring Tree Fragments and Association Measures" by Federico Sangati (DH-FBK) and Andreas van Cranenburgh (UvA Amsterdam) has been accepted at the 11th Workshop on Multiword Expressions (MWE 2015).


Federico Sangati has been invited as a spearker to the workshop on Games and Learning organized by Nina Gierasimczuk. The workshop is part of the SMART Cognitive Science Amsterdam Conference.


We will present ALCIDE, our platform for the analysis of historical documents, at the "Work in Progress Linguistics Colloquium" organized by EURAC and the Competence Center for Language Studies at University of Bozen.


Our group has been included in the "Atlas of Digital Humanities and Social Science" (AtlasCSHD), a map intended to give visibility to researchers, projects, centers and resources in the field of Digital Humanities and Social Sciences in Latin languages.
