Digital History

On Monday, December 1 2014, Federico Sangati will give an overview of the work of our group at the ILLC, the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation of the University of Amsterdam: check the programme of the presentation.

In the context of her PhD research, Rachele Sprugnoli has prepared a questionnaire about the notion of “event” for historians and the interest towards the use of Natural Language Processing tools to support historical investigations.

The paper "ALCIDE: An online platform for the Analysis of Language and Content In a Digital Environment" by Giovanni Moretti, Sara Tonelli, Stefano Menini, and Rachele Sprugnoli has been accepted at CLIC-it in the Digital Humanities track.

Abstract by Stefano Menini has been accepted at the international workshop "Exploring Historical Sources with Language Technology: Results and Perspectives".

The first outcome of our collaboration with the Density Design Lab is now online: give a look at the visualization of our analysis on Alcide De Gasperi's corpus developed by the students of Design at Politecnico di Milano.
