The EVENTI – EValuation of Events aNd Temporal Information task by Tommaso Caselli (Trento-RISE), Rachele Sprugnoli (DH-FBK), Manuela Speranza (HLT-FBK) and Monica Monachini (ILC-CNR) has been accepted at EVALITA 2014 evaluation campaign.
EVALITA is an initiative devoted to the evaluation of Natural Language Processing and Speech tools for Italian active since 2007.
The EVENTI task is focused on the evaluation of temporal processing tools for Italian based on the It-TimeML formalism.
In addition to the main task on contemporary news stories, we propose a pilot task on temporal processing of historical texts to promote the application of NLP techniques to the Digital Humanities domain.
