The abstract “Analysing misogyny in a corpus of online conversations with a focus on Trentino high-school students” by Sara Tonelli, Stefano Menini, Rachele Sprugnoli and Giovanni Moretti has been accepted for presentation at the LIGHTS (Language gender and HaTe Speech) congress.
The congress will be held in Venice on 18/19 October 2018.
Abstract: In this work, we propose a corpus-based study of online conversations on Twitter and Instagram, and specifically on misogynistic language. Our goal is 1) to identify which key-concepts are present in misogynistic tweets manually annotated with semantic categories, and 2) investigate whether in a network of real high-school students on Instagram such key-concepts are present and used with a misogynistic purpose.
